Explore the beauty of the Big Island while you expand your creativity. Have fun and learn new skills in this 5 day tropical art adventure & winter getaway, designed to delight nature lovers and artists of all levels.

IMAGINE A WEEK THAT INCLUDES:
• Painting en pleinair daily with guided instruction
• Sharing two healthy, organic meals a day
• Soaking in naturally geothermal heated warm ponds
• Viewing the newest land and beaches on the planet
• Exploring local scenic and cultural hot spots

In addition a variety of yoga classes are available daily in two local yoga studios.

PAINTING AND CREATIVE EXPLORATION
Master watercolorist and landscape painter Abbie Rabinowitz will facilitate daily en pleinair painting excursions to local scenes. Her creative lesson plans integrate insightful tips and supportive critiques. Students may work in watercolor, oils or acrylics. 

Over the 5 days of the retreat we will choose from dozens of possible adventures and scenic painting spots, all within a short drive or walk. 

Tropical subjects that we can paint:
Tropical landscapes & seascapes
Exotic trees, palms, flowers and fruits
Brand new ‘lavascapes’
Earlybird sunrise over the ocean

Abbie’s beautiful, light filled studio will be available for students to paint indoors. All levels of experience are welcome!

HEALTHY MEALS MADE WITH ISLAND LOVE

Monday to Friday: Your body will be lovingly fed two delicious island fresh organic homemade meals each day. Additionally Sunday dinner & Saturday breakfast are included!

ACCOMMODATIONS

You can choose from a large variety of Airbnb vacation rentals. These include bungalows, homes, and apartments (including camping) located by Puna’s most beautiful scenic byway, the Kalapana Kapoho Beach Road, aka ‘Red Road’.

Abbie Rabinowitz is a fine artist painter (MFA) and also a certified yoga teacher (200 hrs TTC). She’s been painting en pleinair landscapes along the Red Road in Hawaii for over 20 years. Abbie is a master watercolorist, seasoned painter and welcomes students at all levels. She will facilitate your experience with encouragement and gentle critiques. She is insanely inspired by the Big Island and is passionate about sharing her inspiration with others.

Your chef for the retreat is longtime island resident Robin Worley. She has a green thumb in the garden and is an expert chef in the kitchen. She loves preparing healthy island cuisine from local organic fruits and vegetables. Robin will surprise you with her wealth of knowledge about the history and nature of the Big Island. She is also an avant garde fashion designer, a visionary painter and papermaché artist.

We are choosing to keep this group small to optimize the experience and comfort level for all attendees.
There is a maximum of eight participants.

Cancellation policy:
Full refund if canceled by December 1st, 2019
Half refund if canceled by January 1st, 2020
No refund if canceled after January 1st, 2020

Note: Price does not include accommodation, airfare or car service. Excursions will require use of personal vehicles. We can help coordinate shared car rental and suggest rental services.
