New painting and/or drawing exercises will be introduced each week. I will explain the exercises via email and online. Students will complete their painting exercises on their own time and we will meet 1x/week for shared critique and feedback.
You may choose whatever painting medium you prefer. However, I suggest acrylic on paper or canvas, and will send a materials list. Size of the artwork will vary, depending on your personal setup for painting at home.
All levels are welcome! Limited class size.
Sliding scale rate $35 – $50/class.
Payment in full required.

Fear and trepidation of a blank canvas fall away in Abbie’s class. She teaches a way into the visual world of expression, where anyone who wants to can make art.

Abbie’s online Abstract Expressionist class has expanded my artistic vocabulary of putting down paint and allowed me to really have fun while making the explorations. She is supportive, insightful, patient and has a great sense of humor. A wonderful teacher.”

Extraordinary art classes with a professional accomplished artist who has years of experience and knowledge to share. More importantly, Abbie is an encouraging and supportive teacher who provides insightful feedback and instruction which has helped me bring out my inner talents and creativity. Her calm and supportive demeanor is a pleasure to be around in person or virtually. The Abstract Expressionism class has inspired me to get back to painting and have an opportunity to discuss and connect with other artists. I would recommend for anyone starting out, getting back to, or an accomplished artist looking to grow, to take a class with Abbie.

Abbie’s online abstract expression class was fabulous. Abbie is super professional and creative. The structure of the class was a beautiful framework for my creative expression as well as sitting with and viewing the other students’ art. It was such a delight!!!

I’ve done quite a few art classes with Abbie, both live and online. She is patient and encouraging. I have loved this class the best. I didn’t know I was an abstract artist until taking it. I also didn’t have the courage to call myself an artist until now. The exercises really pulled out my creativity and allowed me to express myself in ways that pushed me to open to my style. Abbie encouraged us to play, paint with music, get inspiration from classic artists and each other. The critique was a wonderful way to find the words to express what we saw in each other’s work. And it was great to be with the other students. I highly recommend it!
