Day 22
One of the challenges when painting a watercolor is to anticipate the degree to which the color and intensity fades when the paint dries. Usually a watercolor dries 20% lighter than when you lay the paint down wet. This can be unsettling when you expect a color to remain richer or darker. Other times the change to a lighter shade enhances the painting. I enjoyed the pastel effect of the colors in this sunrise painting. The colors were beautiful and soft. Hence I titled it Pastel Sunrise.
