Bleeding Heart a flowering plant that grows each year in my mother’s garden. They are one of the earliest blooms that appears in the springtime on the east coast, emerging so fast one can just about see it grow and blossom in real time. These tiny pink hearts appear in a row like a little beads strung from a wire. I painted Bleeding Hearts #1 with a delicacy in watercolor that I reserve for defining the details in nature that call for full presence and observation.
