Description

Ali Wooding’s Barn, like Ali, herself was a Bethany relic. After Ali died her home and property were sold. Someone bought her house and tore it down and built a new version of her house on the site where old Ali Downs lived, farmed, and caned chairs to make a living. The new owner restored her barn lovingly, but gone is the character of buckling siding, peeled paint and a rickety roof that gave this old, red barn it’s rustic New England flavor. I painted this watercolor alongside my late father who sketched by my side.
