Touch (Sold)

oil on canvas, 36″x36″

I took many photos of our caregiver as she shaved and helped my father with grooming during his last years. The connection between my father and our caregiver was touching and my father loved her presence and care toward him. In my own experience with shaving my father, I discovered that shaving another person involves a lot of trust and vulnerability. While painting Touch, I elevated our caregiver’s touch to that of an angel.
