Portal is inspired by an amazing canopy of tree branches as they overlap above the Red Road as it disappears through the lush foliage above and created a tunnel below. On sunny days the sunlight peeks in and out of the foliage, with pokes of sunlight and shadow that play back and forth on the road below. In the distance, beyond the darkened tree tunnel, a larger area or light beckons. Light at the end of the tunnel would be another apt name for this painting.
