This is one of the amazing views of the Pacific coastline seen from Esalen retreat center in Big Sur, California. I attended several workshops and assisted pleinair painting classes at Esalen. We would set up our easels and paints near the edge of the cliff, where we weathered some drizzly, wet days as well as spectacular sun drenched moments. The view looking south was an every changing drama of colors, fog, mist and sunlight.
