I painted Big Island Coastline from one of my favorite lookouts along the Kalapana coastline on the Red Road where the surf crashes dramatically against the black lava cliffs. When I look at this painting I remember the sound of the crashing waves and the salt spray in the air. I recall seeing large sea turtles swimming just under the surface of the water.
