I spent two months in Maui during my first extended stay in Hawaii. I stayed in a small cottage in Haiku that was set adjacent to a grove of banana trees, I couldn’t resist painting these trees, especially in the later hours when the bright Hawaiian sunlight bathed them in light and backlit the trunks and leaves.
