Sometimes I am not fully pleased with a finished watercolor but there are parts of the painting I really like. Instead of tossing out the whole painting I reconstitute that painting by turning it into a collage. It’s a great way to reconstitute watercolors and I have discovered some surprising and fun results. Juicy Fruit is one such watercolor collage. I like seeing how the fragments of my paintings when reorganized connect to other elements in unexpected ways. It becomes an ongoing play of finding new visual connections.
