Cucumber Vine

This week I have taken advantage of where I have been housesitting in Hawaii. My host planted a healthy and abundant vegetable garden that I’ve been watering daily. Being Hawaii, some of these plants have grown to astronomical proportions. Early mornings when it’s still cool, I’ve sat on the ground with my watercolors and palette to observe these plants from up close. This painting reveals the evolution of the cucumber… flower blossoms ready to transform along with newborn baby cucumbers.
