Sometimes I pause when I’m painting to admire how wonderfully unplanned and random the colors and shapes appear on the paper palette where I mix my colors. In some cases, I prefer the abstraction of the palette more than the painting I’ve been working on. In this palette collage, I decided to cut up the paper palette and glue the shapes over the painting I had done of ocean waves crashing. Though not an exact representation, I feel this palette collage expresses the essence of the powerful ocean crashing along the coast.
