I began this painting by observing and painting directly from my garden, though at a certain point this painting took on a life of its own. That means I make choices as a direct response to the painting, not from my subject. This ‘garden’ evolved toward a round abstract painting with its ‘roots’ still firmly planted in the ground itself.
