This is an 8′ x 8′ mural painted on four primed 4′ x 4′ panels, to be installed on the outside wall of a house.
I began by outlining the shapes from a smaller print using an overhead projector.
Using my preliminary study to guide me,  I began painting by ‘filling in” the shapes with color around the entire mural rather than completing one area at a time. This way I begin to see rhythms and color relationships develop as I work. Since acrylics usually dry a slightly darker shade than when wet, I need to wait and adjust some areas with a new color mixture, building colors by layering. Check back to track my progress as I add more images daily.
