Abstract Paintings
There are times as an artist that I have chosen to paint abstractly, and other times a particular subject compels me to work representationally. I feel that one practice informs the other and I appreciate all phases of my artistic exploration. When I paint abstractly, I am more interested in the physical qualities of the materials I am using… the paint, the tools I am using, and how I apply the paint. I paint without a particular destination and am often surprised to see how the painting reflects my feelings and emotions at the time.
