My house and art studio

Abbie Rabinowitz and Robin Worley are Big Island of Hawaii residents, artists, and all-round fun people!
We are super eager to share our love of nature, art, and healthy eating at next winter’s Tropical Painting Retreats. Due to our successful sold-out workshops, we are now offering two painting retreats this winter. Feel free to contact us with any questions you have. We look forward to seeing you!

Me with brush

Abbie Rabinowitz is a fine artist painter (MFA). She’s paints both pleinair landscapes and abstract paintings. She has been leading abstract painting workshops online and leading art retreats in Hawaii for over four years. She will facilitate your experience with encouragement and gentle, supportive critiques. She is insanely inspired by the Big Island and is passionate about sharing her inspiration with others.

Your chef for the retreat is longtime island resident Robin Worley. She has a green thumb in the garden and is an expert chef in the kitchen. She loves preparing healthy island cuisine from local organic fruits and vegetables. Robin will surprise you with her wealth of knowledge about the history and nature of the Big Island. She is also an avant garde fashion designer, a visionary painter and papermaché artist.

I didn’t know anything about the goddess Pele or the volcano, just that there was this most recent eruption.  That I was so pulled to the lava rock still intrigues me and I’ve been amazed as I’ve researched the event and the mythology of Pele, after the fact of the retreat.  And so, the Tropical Art Retreat experience continues to reveal deep meaning for me, to me, and about me, which is one of the reasons I go on art retreats…to learn more about myself and fall more deeply in love with the unique expression I am. I have continuous gratitude to you for creating this experience and for nurturing us all, body and mind and emotions, along the way.
